Embassy Consulting Services was honored to partner with the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO) to deliver a specialized webinar-based training on Customer Service and De-escalation to over 150 CACEO members. This training, facilitated by Joe Levy, was designed to support Code Enforcement Officers in managing the often complex and emotionally charged interactions they face in the field.
As Code Enforcement Officers, engaging with the public is a central part of the job—often rewarding, but at times challenging. Officers are frequently called upon to interact with individuals who may be upset, frustrated, or even confrontational. Recognizing the critical need for practical tools and strategies to handle these situations effectively, this three-hour training aimed to empower officers with the confidence and skills needed to respond professionally and safely.

- Delivering Exceptional Customer Service
- Understanding Aggressive Behavior
- The Origins of Difficult Behavior
- Avoiding Emotional “Hooks”
- The Role of Emotions in Conflict
- The Fight or Flight Response
- Identifying Emotional Triggers
- De-escalation Techniques & Active Listening
- Setting Limits and Dealing with Profanity
This training emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence, situational awareness, and communication strategies as key tools for maintaining professionalism and diffusing conflict. Our goal is to help officers build positive relationships with the communities they serve—while ensuring their own personal safety.
