Chief Neil Gallucci (Retired) is a law enforcement veteran with 36 years of experience. He began his career in law enforcement with the City of Long Beach in 1987. He joined the City of Carlsbad in 1990 as a police officer and worked his way through the ranks, serving as a police captain for six years before being named interim police chief in August 2015 and appointed to police chief in March of 2016. He has hands on experience in all law enforcement disciplines.
Neil has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Management and a Certificate in Law Enforcement Command from the University of San Diego. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Sherman Block Leadership Institute and the Law Enforcement Command College and holds an Executive Certificate from the Commission of Police Officer Standards and Training.
