July Castro first started her martial arts career over 50 years under the instruction of her father, Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro. Building on this solid foundation, she has faithfully carried his tradition forward over the years by attaining the rank of 10th Degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kenpo Karate, educating and empowering individuals through her speaking engagements and seminars. Grandmaster Castro’s highly regarded self-defense seminars represent a distillation of all her training and experiences delivered in a way to have the greatest impact on her student’s lives in such a short time. Her ability to convey critical information in an easily digestible way has enabled thousands of individuals to gain the mental awareness skills and confidence to identify and avoid danger, as well as the foundational physical techniques necessary to defend themselves and survive an attack in an otherwise dire situation.
Additionally, Grandmaster July is the owner and head instructor of Kid Power Martial Arts. This unique, age-specific martial arts program emphasizes leadership skills and character development while helping each child achieve their best through the martial arts. She is also a dedicated mother of two daughters who are already proving to be the next generation of strong, aware, and confident young women.
