Supervision & Management Course
This introductory course is designed for new supervisors from the rank of sergeant or lieutenant or civilian equivalent. It is also appropriate for professional staff who supervise police personnel. The course will provide elements of both line level supervision and management of personnel.
The course will include topics and discussions regarding leadership styles and types, management versus leadership, forming effective teams, collaboration (within and out of the organization), managing budgets, and lastly an emphasis of continual growth of the individual.
Chief Neil Gallucci, Carlsbad Police Department
Chief Gallucci is a law enforcement veteran with 30 years of experience. He began his career in law enforcement with the City of Long Beach in 1987. He joined the City of Carlsbad in 1990 as a police officer and worked his way through the ranks, serving as a police captain for six years before being named interim police chief in August 2015 and appointed to police chief in March of 2016.
Captain Paul Mendes, Carlsbad Police Department (ret)
Paul Mendes is a recently retired captain from the Carlsbad Police Department. He spent 22 of his 30-year law enforcement career at the Carlsbad Police Department. Prior to that he was employed at both the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement and the San Diego County Marshal’s Department.
Embassy Consulting Services, LLC, is owned and operated by Josef Levy, Commander (Retired) Long Beach Police Department. Embassy trainings and seminars are not open to the general public. Embassy seminars are for Law Enforcement personnel or those who in some capacity represent law enforcement, public or government agencies.
