Embassy Consulting Services, LLC in partnership with the Carlsbad Police Department presents:

Critical Incident Response for Peer Support Teams

This course is designed to prepare peer support team members to respond and effectively support the psychological recovery and resilience of public safety personnel after a large scale critical incident, an active shooter or terrorist event. All public safety employees and peer support members are encouraged to attend.

Dr. Heather Williams, Regional Peer Support Coordinator, Orange County Sheriff’s Department

The class will be presented by Dr. Heather Williams. As the Regional Peer Support Coordinator of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Heather coordinates the OCSD Peer Support Team, responds to critical incidents and facilitates a modified critical incident debriefing model countywide. In the aftermath of an active shooter event in Seal Beach, CA she co-founded the Orange County Association of Peer Supporters (OCAPS), which functions as peer support mutual aid. Heather believes in proactive preparation and relationship building because it’s not a matter of “if” our community will be faced with an active shooter incident, but a matter of “when.”
