Critical Incident Response for Peer Support Teams


This POST Certified course is designed to prepare peer support team members to respond and effectively support the psychological recovery and resilience of public safety personnel after a large-scale critical incident, an active shooter or terrorist event. All public safety employees and peer support members are encouraged to attend.

The class will be facilitated by Dr. Heather Williams. Dr. Williams was formally the Regional Peer Support Coordinator of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. She coordinated the OCSD Peer Support Team, responded to critical incidents and facilitates a modified critical incident debriefing model countywide.


In the aftermath of an active shooter event in Seal Beach, CA she co-founded the Orange County Association of Peer Supporters (OCAPS), which functions as peer support mutual aid.

Embassy training seminars are not open to the general public. Embassy seminars are for Law Enforcement personnel or those who, in some capacity, represent law enforcement, public or government agencies.
